I'm amazed...

No one has had a single warranty issue since the dawn of this site.  Absofriggenlutely amazing.  Subaru must have really picked up on their support and quality in the last 2 years.

VOIDED? They have to do the work if it breaks unless the problem stems for the mod.

Yes, you're wrong.

well, ok, it's not fully voided.  if i ever have engine and drivetrain issues, i know that they'll throw the power mods in my face.  i am aware of the Magnuson Moss Warranty act.

my mod list is kinda long for a car that has 7K on the ODO.

Re: I'm amazed...

yea i think its more so the fact that most of us know we have no warranties due to our mods... i can't even participate in the guaranteed trade in program because of my mods. oh well.

The End.

Re: I'm amazed...

Well this place needs some new topics as it's kinda quiet..  no one had posted in here at all, figured it would spark at least some conversation.  I'm a year and a half into my EVO now, already had a trans swap under warranty, but I must have been like the only EVO out there not power modded, so I had no fight about it.  I modified my brakes and changed the tires but they don't cover that anyway as it's wear and tear, and I did wear and tear them up.. The trans was making a noise since about 3000 miles on the odometer, but never any actual failure, it took 5 trips and a new clutch, flywheel, and bearing and shaft replacement before they'd do it.. at which point they figured nothing short of a swap was going to fix the noise, but I don't dump my clutch, and my transmission gears were, as they put it: "perfect".  So I got a $9,000 trans put in free.  I knew not to modify the car at least until the kinks were worked out of my car, and that was a big one.  Now that I have another commuter car, the no modification bit is on pace to change.

Re: I'm amazed...

Well I can forget about pretty much any drivetrain warranty work since I have an 07 STI trans, COBB Stage2, JDM v.7 IC and various other aftermarket goodies.  Oh well.  $1800 flushed down the toilet.  Well at least maybe they'll fix the AC or the radio if it dies.  wink

Re: I'm amazed...

i got my EVO bone stock haha, now lets hope is something breaks down they dont try to blame in on driver abuse. If its stock and i have all the service checks etc they should cover almost everything.

Re: I'm amazed...

Does anyone know if an aftermarket exhaust system will void the powertrain warranty? I just bought an 07 wrx, and i decided to take it out to the mountains and do some drifting and donuts, well i somehow ended up busting the tranny and its not going into 1st gear. So i want them to replace the tranny but i have a aftermarket exhaust it.

Re: I'm amazed...

As always, they will try to blame any problem on any aftermarket part, but in the end they have to prove your add-on caused the problem.
I doubt an exhaust can cause any powertrain problem.

I abused the shit out my transmission, plenty of drag racing and mine never broke.
For an 07s to go out it must have been suspect to begin with or you REALLY abused it

Re: I'm amazed...

+1

But if you're still worried about, just remove the exhaust and put the stock one back on.
